LASU professor's driver, others remanded in prison till Oct 24 over armed robbery allegations

A 33-year-old driver to a lecturer of Computer Science in Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. BenJamin who allegedly led his gang to rob his boss will remain in Prison custody till October 24
The driver,  Adelaja Olalekan, Onouwari Daniel and Ifeanyi Odimba were arrested by the police last year over the offence and charged before the State Magistrate Court, Ikeja on July 23, 2015.
The count one of the charge read:" That you Adelaja Olalekan, Onouwari Daniel, Ifeanyi Odimba and others at large on the June 22, 2015 at about 00915hrs at Block 2, Flat 3, Lasu Staff Quarter, Ojo Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District did conspire  amongst yourselves to commit an offence contrary to Secction 279 and punishable under Section 295(2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011".
The plea of the defendants were not taken but they were remanded in prison custody then.
Their remand were sequel to an application filed the police seeking for the remand of the defendants pending the release of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) advice.
The trial magistrate, B O Osunsanmi granted the application and the defendants were remanded.
At resuming hearing of the trial yesterday, the court was informed by the prosecutor that DPP's advice was not ready yet.
The police prosecutor prayed for a short adjournment and the court granted it.
Consequently, the court adjourned the matter till October 24.
