Theft of gold: court remand three ladies

A Lagos Magistrate Court sitting in Ikeja has ordered three ladies to be remanded in prison custody for allegedly stealing gold jewelries valued fifteen million naira
The ladies, including two sisters, Gloria and Naomi Joshua, and Gift Etim, were ordered to be remanded in prison custody by the court pending the perfection of their‎ bail conditions.
‎The defendants were arraigned  before magistrate O.A. Olayinka for the alleged theft of the jewelries, on a two count charge offence bodering on felony and stealing.
The prosecutor, sergeant Donjor Penezi informed the court that the defendants stole a box of gold valued at fifteen million naira, property of one Vivian Chilogy.
‎He said that they committed the offence on January 21, 2016 at about 12pm at Lekki phase 1 Lagos.
The prosecutor said that the offence committed were contrary to section 285(1) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The suspects pleaded not guilty to the two count charge preferred against them by the police.
Magistrate Olayinka admitted each of the defendants to bail in the sum of one million naira and two sureties  in  like sum.
The trial magistrate thereafter adjourned the matter till April 21, 2016.
