Ambode reiterates commitment to good governance and selfless service.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has charged Nigerians to continue to be vigilant and united in the resolve not to allow our communities to be used as a breeding ground for extremism, just as he assured that his administration will continue to render good governance and selfless service.
The Governor, who was represented by the Hon. Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, made this submission while declaring open the 39th annual conference of the Nigerian Society of International Law, with a theme ‘international law and extremism’.
“A theme of this nature is very imperative especially in this critical period of our dear country, Nigeria when we, like many other countries are at the receiving end of acts of extremism in its various forms, he added.
Ambode said ‘extremism breed insecurity and uncertainty under which no meaningful development can take place’.
The Governor noted that the effect of insurgency is particularly exemplified by the devastation which the North Eastern part of the country has witnessed; with thousands of internally displaced persons in need of support to be reintegrated into the society.
He however noted  that the commitment that has been demonstrated by the president, the support of the international community and most importantly the renewed determination of our armed forces have rekindled the hope that the defeat of Boko Haram is imminent.
The Governor while congratulating  the society for another successful event said ‘I have no doubt that this conference will offer useful insight into the various dimension and the effect of extremism on the society as well as proffering pragmatic solution to  the problem being posed by the act of extremists’.
