LAGOS STATE ATTORNEY-GENERAL TASKS LAW OFFICERS TO BRACE UP FOR THE NEW CHALLENGES AHEAD

The Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem at the maiden Management charged Law Officers to be proactive, innovative and imbibe the use of modern technology in communicating with other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in order to perform more effectively.
He also noted that the Ministry of Justice being a professional Ministry is charged with various responsibilities which include rendering legal and advisory services to other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and must at all times ensure prompt responses to State matters.
He charged the Law Officers in other MDAs to ensure that they liaise with the Ministry of Justice and as well respond to requests made on State matters within time in order to portray, promote and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Ministry.
Mr. Kazeem also reiterated the fact that if lawyers were given all necessary information to keep them abreast of the facts of the matters and were given necessary documents to assist them in their cases, there was possibility of having more judgments delivered or given in favour of the State thereby reducing the financial burden on the State Government.
Law Officers were also charged to be up to date, adopt international best practices, follow the trends in advanced countries and brace up for the new challenges ahead more so that the legal profession is also advancing.
He further stated that since Lagos State is the most prosperous State in Nigeria, the Justice Sector must always lead in its justice delivery system.
Mr. Kazeem then informed the management that all hands must be on deck to make the State excel and promised to give them all necessary support needed to achieve the desired goals of the State.
In response, the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice – Mrs. Funlola Odunlami expressed the happiness to have an experienced and a well-seasoned Legal Practitioner as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice for the State. She also informed the Attorney-General that the Ministry is blessed with seasoned professional and
pledged total support of all staff to the Attorney-General.
