Cynthia Osokogwu: Court concludes trial; adjourns for written address

The defense in the ongoing murder trial of Cynthia Osokogu who was allegedly murdered by suspected facebook friends closed its case before a Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere, Lagos.

At the resumption of the hearing of the matter, the fourth defendant, Nonso Ezike, narrating the role he played in the alleged murder, told the court that he know all the other three defendants.
When crossed examined by the Prosecution team led by the Director of Public Prosecution, Mrs. Idowu Alakija, the 4th defendant, who was  charged for receiving a BB phone belonging to Cynthia, confessed to have received there Nigerian used phones from the second defendant.
‘I assisted him to sell the first, I repaired the second and also sold the third one a Blackberry bold 9900 which apparently belonged to the deceased’.
He said he was arrested and detained in Sept 2012.
At the end of the cross examination, the court closed the case and adjourned the matter till April 11, 2016, to enable parties file their final written addresses.
The late Cynthia Osokogwu, a 25- year old postgraduate student of Nasarawa State University, was murdered on July 22, 2012, at Cosmilla Hotel, at Lake View Estate, Festac Town, in Lagos by her Facebook friends.
Four men, Okwumo Nwabufo, 34; Olisaeloka Ezike, 24; Orji Osita, 33; and  Nonso Ezike, 25, are standing trial for conspiracy and the murder of the late Cynthia.
The alleged offences contravened Sections 221, 249, 285 and 327 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The Lagos State Government had charged them to court.
