NDLEA Arraigns 56 years-old man, 2 others for drug illicit

A 56 year-old man, Ezeanya Emeka Paul, and two other persons were arraigned before Justice Babs Kuewumi of a Lagos Federal High Court, by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on alleged drug trafficking.
The other two persons arraigned alongside the 56 years old man, are Obi Chukwukwnene Edwin, and a woman, AbdulRasheed Rashidat Olanike.
During the arraignment of Ezeanya, the prosecutor, Mr. Austin Nwagu, informed the court that the accused was arrested with 1.47 kilograms of Cocaine, when his plane which was heading to Dubai from Brazil to  made an emergency landing at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos.
On Obi, the prosecutor, Mrs. Juliana Emabo, informed the court that he was arrested with 1.575 kilograms of Heroin, at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, on May 3, 2016, on his arrival from Daresaalem, Tanzania's capital.
While Mr. Abu Ibrahim informed the court that Olanike was arrested at the same airport, on May 18, 2016, with 970 grams of heroin, and 155 grams of cocaine, during an outward clearance of passengers on an Ethiopian Airline Flight to Guangzhou, China, through Addis-Ababa.
All efforts by the lawyers to the accused persons; who are B. O. Aikhegbe and E. U. Okenji, to get their clients admitted to bail proved abortive, as the presiding judge, Justice Kuewumi, granted the prosecutors' remand application,  and ordered that all the accused persons be remanded at Prison's custody pending trial date.
Consequently, the trial of Ezeanya was adjourned till September 29, while the trials of Olanike and Obi   was fixed for September 28 and October 19, 2016, respectively.
