Suspected cultist remanded for murder

The Men of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of Lagos State Police Command, Panti-Yaba, has charged a 41 year-old, suspected cultist, Bamidele Ajibade, before an Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrate's Court, on charges bordering on conspiracy, managing an unlawful society and murder.

Consequently, the presiding magistrate, Mrs. Ope Agbe, has ordered that the suspect be remanded in prisons custody, pending an advice from the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution on the matter.
In the charge sheet attached with the remand warrant, the police alleged that suspected cultist who claimed to be a 2005 Elect-elect Higher National Diploma graduate from Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara state, and others now at large, had on November 26, at about 22.30p.m at Cele-nicer Bus stop, Badagry expressway, did unlawfully killed one Shina Aleshiloye, 29, by shooting him with a gum.
The accused and others now at large were to managed and belong to an unlawful society called 'Eiye fraternity'.
The offences according to the prosecutor, Woman Corporal Owumi Iyobosa, are punishable under sections 409,41, 42(a) 231 and 211 of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2011.
The accused person's pleas were not taken.
The presiding magistrate, Miss B. O. Ope-Agbe, ordered the accused to be remanded in prisons custody, pending a directive from DPP.
The matter has been adjourned till January 13, 2016.
